Ekaterina Nekrasova of Russia swam under the ice without fins or a wetsuit for 102.7 (336 feet) metres on March 6, 2021, and surpassed Czech freediver David Vencl’s previous record of 81 meters (265.75 feet) set last month. Ekaterina is 40 years old and took up freediving 4 years ago. Maria Olshevskaya also of Russia conducted a breath-hold (without a wetsuit) in 1-degree ice-cold water for 4 minutes and 17 seconds on March 8, 2021.
